Jury finds Nipsey Hussle's accused killer Eric Holder Jr. guilty
Los Angeles, California - Eric Ronald Holder Jr., the man accused of gunning down Nipsey Hussle in broad daylight, was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury.
Roughly three years after Nipsey's tragic death, Holder was officially convicted of murder.
According to the Associated Press, the jury deliberated for six hours before returning with a unanimous guilty verdict on Wednesday.
Holder was also charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, as two bystanders were allegedly hit by the gunfire. But the jury instead found him guilty of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter.
During the three-week trial, prosecutors argued that the 32-year-old's attack was premeditated and calculated. Deputy District Attorney John McKinney said Hussle and Holder had gotten into some type of disagreement prior to the rapper's death.
Holder's attorney Aaron Jansen countered the DA's claims by arguing his client didn't mean to hit the bystanders, and chalked the attack up to the "heat of passion."
Hussle was fatally shot outside his clothing store in LA in March 2019 at the age of 33. His tragic death followed the release of his first major label album that landed the rapper his first Grammy nomination.
Holder faces life in prison when he's sentenced on September 15.
