Those who followed along with the tragic story of Petito's death, which came at the hands of Laundrie, just got a little more insight into what may have been the last time she was ever seen alive.

On Monday evening, Fox News Digital acquired video surveillance footage of the late couple at a Whole Foods in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on August 27, 2021, just after the two were allegedly spotted at Merry Piglets Tex-Mex restaurant, where Laundrie was fighting with the wait staff.

In the security footage, Petito's white camper van is seen pulling into the parking lot. Several moments later, the pair emerge from the van as Laundrie grabs a hat from the back before heading into the store.

There are several interesting things about the video, with one being their body language. Gabby Is seen walking across the lot with her arms crossed, as a noticeably agitated Laundrie walks beside her with his hands in his pockets and sunglasses on.

The two were then spotted on surveillance cameras inside Whole Foods as they wandered through the aisles before grabbing some cheese from the store's coffee shop and leaving.

Another jarring element of the video relates to the direction the couple headed in after leaving the parking lot, which apparently took several minutes for Laundrie and Petito to do once returning to their van.

Per Fox News, the couple sat inside the van for 20 minutes on August 27, 2021, before exiting the lot onto Highway 89, which leads to the Bridger-Teton National Forest campsite where Petito's remains were found.

On August 31, 2021, Laundrie showed up in Florida in Petito's van, but his fiancé was nowhere in sight. Her parents hadn't received a text from Gabby since August 30, 2021, and given that Laundrie and his family were giving them the silent treatment, Petito's family filed a missing person's report on September 11, 2021. Eight days later, Petito's remains were found at the Spread Creek Dispersed Campground.

A coroner later ruled her death a homicide by manual strangulation and estimated that Petito's time of death was three or four weeks before her remains were discovered on September 19, 2021. August 27 would've been roughly three weeks before her body was found.

The day before the discovery of Petito's remains, news broke that Laundrie was missing, leading many to wonder why law enforcement didn't keep closer tabs on a person of interest in the death of Petito.

On October 22, 2021, human remains located at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park were confirmed to be Laundrie's, and his death was later ruled a suicide by a gunshot to the head.

A notebook of Laundrie's was found in a dry bag near the area where his remains were located, in which he admitted to taking Petito's life.

Petito's parents are in the process of suing Laundrie's parents, claiming they knew of their son's involvement in Petito's death when he returned without her. They are also suing the Moab Police Department for wrongful death, and are seeking $50 million in return.
