Police body cam footage of the October 28 incident shows officers arriving at the Pelosi house early that Friday morning.

The front door of the residence opens to reveal suspect David DePape and Paul Pelosi both with their hands on the grip of a hammer.

"Drop the hammer," one officer says.

"Uh, nope," DePape says.

DePape and Pelosi struggle with the hammer, but DePape overpowers him, and quickly strikes him with it right in front of law enforcement.

Officers quickly react, rushing through the door, subduing DePape, and calling medical assistance for Pelosi.

Pelosi was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery "to repair a skull fracture and serious injuries to his right arm and hands." He has since been released and is making a full recovery.

The 911 call Pelosi made was also released, revealing the terrifying moments his house was broken into.

Audio of the nearly three minute 911 call that Pelosi made from his bathroom during the altercation was also released, revealing the 82-year-old speaking calmly and trying to navigate the situation.

"There's a gentleman here just waiting for my wife to come back, Nancy Pelosi," he says on the call, adding that, "She's not going to be here for days, so I guess we'll have to wait."

The dispatcher at one point asks Pelosi who David is, to which he responds, "I don't know." David then says he's "a friend."

Pelosi continues: "He's telling me to put the phone down and just do what he says."

"He wants me to get the hell off the phone," he adds before quickly hanging up.

DePape, a Canadian citizen who has been in the US illegally, broke into the San Francisco home that night with the intention of harming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Reviews of his online accounts show his involvement in the world of far-right conspiracies, antisemitism, and hate speech.

David DePape is still on trial, facing federal charges of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary, elder abuse, assault with a deadly weapon, and threatening family members of public officials.
