A very on-brand find for spooky season arrived when border officials uncovered 136 filled condoms stuffed into four carved out pumpkins – that's 34 rubbers per vegetable.

The condoms' contents? 44 pounds of liquid meth.

"Not a gourd hiding spot," the official Twitter account of US Customs and Border Protection (CPB) wrote.

The smuggler was stopped last Tuesday as he tried to enter Texas at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry from Mexico in a 2012 Ford Escape.

An officer sent the driver to a second checkpoint, where guards "used their training, experience and interviewing skills and discovered a rather novel narcotics smuggling method in the process," said Port Director Elizabeth Garduno.

"Our frontline CBP officers have seen just about everything and this Tuesday was no exception as they encountered liquid methamphetamine hidden within pumpkins," she added.

The drugs are set to have an estimate street value worth a whopping $402,196.

The driver and his passenger, about whom no further details were provided, were turned over to local law enforcement.
