Dirty dentistry: Woman admits to breaking into a dental office just to pull someone's teeth
Sun Valley, Nevada - A woman is behind bars for arranging a robbery of a dental practice, and for stopping to pull thirteen teeth out of someone's mouth before she left.
It's a story that local police will be talking about for a while to come. Local Nevada news station 2KUTV reports that Laurel Eich (42) was arrested on July 14 for a variety of felonies committed in Sun Valley, but even her charges of burglary weren't the most interesting on the list.
According to the police report, Eich broke into a dental office after-hours on May 3 to steal over $20,000 in cash and checks. But when the police were questioning her in connection to how she planned the burglary, it was revealed that it wasn't the first time she had broken into the dental practice.
The details of her previous unauthorized visit to the practice was easily the strangest admission the detectives had heard.
Maybe she was just trying to help a friend out because dentistry can be pretty pricey, but investigators discovered that at an earlier point in time, Eich took another individual with her into the clinic after hours.
Eich apparently made use of some anesthetic drugs that were marked for disposal there at the clinic and then put the unidentified person under and proceeded to extract a total of 13 teeth!
It's not clear if she had prior training in teeth extraction, or administered any aftercare for the victim.
She has been charged with one felony count of Performing Surgery on Another Without a License; five other felonies related to burglary and breaking probation; and one gross misdemeanor count of Conspiracy to Commit Burglary.
