Con man defrauds 35 separate girlfriends – at the same time
Osaka, Japan - In a crazy criminal case from Japan, the police arrested a 39-year-old con man who cheated on at least 35 women at the same time.
According to the Tokyo Reporter, Japanese police recently arrested Takashi Miyagawa on suspicion of multiple cases of fraud.
He allegedly lied to several dozen women and lured them into a committed relationship in order to cash in on them with a treacherous scheme. His trick: he told every single one of them that his birthday was on a different day of the year.
According to police, the 39-year-old was actually born on November 13, but three of his victims said he told them something completely different.
He allegedly told a 47-year-old woman that his birthday was on February 22, while to two other women, aged 40 and 35, he claimed that he was celebrating his birthday in April and July.
As a result, he constantly received new birthday gifts from all the women he pulled this stunt on, mostly in the form of money. From the three victims just mentioned, he received almost 100,000 yen, the equivalent of about $925.
But Takashi Miyagawa did not only play this vicious game with these three. Police say he pulled the stunt on at least 35 women – at the same time!
Takashi Miyagawa even made a victim believe he wanted to marry her
There are various recordings of the man going on dates with different women in restaurants or parks. He got to know them all by contacting them as a hygiene product salesman, according to the police.
One victim even reported that the 39-year-old kissed her on the lips during the second date. She told him she would only do such a thing with someone who would also marry her.
Then the Japanese man reportedly replied, "I'm serious. I’m going to be with you for the rest of my life."
He wasn't that articulate when he was arrested, though. According to reports, all he said was, "I don’t want to say anything until I speak with a lawyer."
