Olivia Rodrigo and Apple team up to launch #BrutalMask TikTok challenge
Cupertino, California - Olivia Rodrigo's latest music video for her song Brutal was made on an iPad, so of course Apple is wasting no time in taking advantage of that sweet publicity!
Apple has turned the celebrity's video into a collaboration between her fans and those of the iPad product line, according to 9to5Mac.
Rodrigo is encouraging her followers to take part in the #BrutalMask campaign by creating their own masks using the Procreate app on iPad and sharing them on TikTok.
Apple has released special tutorials with artists such as Braeden O’Brien, Designical, and fiona_art on TikTok to teach newbies how to use their Apple Pencil and the app to edit videos and photos to look like Rodrigo's video.
It's not the first time Apple has paired up with a star to advertise. Selena Gomez shot her 2019 hit Lose You To Love Me entirely with the iPhone 11 Pro.
Lady Gaga used the same device to shoot her Stupid Love music video last year.
So far, Rodrigo's TikTok fans are loving the trend.
Apple hasn't said if the campaign has resulted in die-hard Rodrigo fans deliberately ordering iPads to participate, but surely her face with the brand is only going to help their bottom line.
