Man who plays dead on TikTok scores a role on CSI!
Elizabethtown, Kentucky - A man who has been "playing dead" on TikTok is now being cast as an extra in a major television show thanks to his bizarre hobby.
For the past year, Josh Nalley (42) has gained quite a following on his page, which has numerous videos of him imitating a corpse in various locations.
According to USA Today, his aim was to find acting work where he could play an "un-alive person."
"I originally got this idea after seeing a woman on TikTok posting about hot sauce, and then she got offers from a bunch of hot sauce companies," Nalley said. "I thought if I was creative enough playing an un-alive person, I could get the attention of a television show or a movie production company, and how about that, it worked."
With over 350 posts under his belt, his work got the attention of producers behind the iconic show CSI: Vegas.
"I got an email from CBS that said they'd seen me on TikTok and wanted to offer me the part," Nalley explained. At first, I didn't believe it, but they flew me out to California."
"It turned out that Mario Van Peebles was the director for that episode so besides getting cast in the show, I also got to meet him, which was great," he added.
From TikTok to the CSI set
While in California, the internet sensation got to shoot a scene of the show as a cadaver on a gurney that took three or four takes. He also got to shoot a clip for his TikTok on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as he played dead next to the star of famed CSI actor Marg Helgenberger.
He also noted he has since gotten several other offers for work, including a music video and a few low-budget films.
Josh Nalley said he doesn't plan to quit his day job as a restaurant manager just yet, but he is continuing to look for even more "un-alive" roles to play.
