"You slay!": Influencer has the best response to being fat-shamed on Tinder
Chilliwack, Canada - Body positivity influencer Bethany Caldwell understands how difficult it can be to be overweight in today's society – especially when it comes to dating, both online and off.
In a short clip posted on TikTok, she shared a particularly nasty message from a recent Tinder match named Justin.
Just reading through his biography, which Beth described as being full of "chef's kiss toxic masculinity," gave her the creeps. He went so far as to write, "Obesity isn't beautiful or healthy" for his potential matches to see.
Justin then decided to strike up a conversation with Bethany, but instead of a simple, "Hi, how are you?" he opened with, "Why not lose weight? It's not hard."
Beth was left speechless at first, but soon came back with the best response.
"Thank you so much for your input, Justin! Even though quite obviously, no one asked for it. You know what's way easier than losing weight? Minding your own business!"
She continued, "Why don't you go ahead and deal with your internalized narcissism and misogyny and leave me and my cute fat body to exist in peace," before ending her rant.

Yet, wannabe nutritionist Justin just couldn't let it go and recommended she go on a diet.
Bethany used the example as a teachable moment about body image.
"This is exactly why it's not the same to be thin and have insecurities as it is to be a fat person existing in a world that just hates fat people," Bethany said.
"Thin people can hide their insecurities in oversized sweatshirts and mom jeans, but fat people in visibly fat bodies get s*** on just for existing," the TikTok user concluded in her clip.
"Just another day in the life of a fat..." she captioned the video. It has now been viewed over 80,000 times, with overwhelming support for Bethany, and disses for Justin.
"You slay!" wrote one TikTok commenter. "Keep being you."
Instead of letting the humiliation get her down, Bethany continues to proudly show off her body on TikTok and Instagram.
She has tens of thousands of followers on both platforms, to whom she continues to spread happiness with her body positivity and self-love.
