Nominations for the 47th People's Choice Awards were announced on Wednesday. And boy, did they include a lot of people.

The People’s Choice Awards celebrate all forms of entertainment – from movies and TV, to music and internet stars. This year, there are an overwhelming eight nominees in each of the award show's 40 categories.

That's quite a lot of people. And the winners are chosen by – you guessed it – "the people" en masse.

Anyone can vote either online or via Twitter from now until November 17, and the fan-favorites will win.

The ceremony will take place on December 7 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. For the first time this year, it will be broadcast simultaneously on both NBC and E!.

F9: The Fast Saga leads the movie nominations with eight nods. Black Widow, Dune, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings also are contenders for The Movie of 2021. Additional categories list dozens of other titles for top spot in drama, action, comedy, and family films. Actors are also broken into categories by genre, yet curiously, the only musical categories broken into genre are Latin and Country artists.

Marvel's Loki picked up the most TV nominations of any series, with this year's Emmy-winning Ted Lasso and This is Us close behind.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson cooked up noms across all on-screen fields, including Male Movie Star of 2021for Jungle Cruise, Male TV Star of 2021 for Young Rock, and Social Star of 2021 – perhaps for his food-filled Instagram or newfound rapping prowess.

He is up against a stacked field for 2021's Social Star that peculiarly pits him against Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Kylie Jenner, Lil Nas X, Addison Rae, and Justin Beiber. What criteria voters will use to decide their pick is unclear - especially when judging the bizarre Insta antics of Spears against a TikToker like Rae or the ever self-promoting Kardashians.

The fun-filled categories continue, including one for The Bingeworthy Show of 2021 that will certainly see nominees Squid Game and Ted Lasso running neck and neck.

Who will win? The people will decide, with the show beginning at 9 PM EST and airing on NBC and E!.
