The trailer for Mary J Blige's documentary is here – and it's heartbreaking
Cresskill, New Jersey - The trailer for Mary J Blige's upcoming documentary, My Life, is here and already promises to be an emotional, yet inspiring treat for the singer's fans!
It seems that celebrities are getting more personal and open with their fans this year!
On Tuesday, the world was gifted a sneak peek at the singer's biographical special, which will be released on Amazon Prime's streaming app later this month.
In the original documentary, the Real Love singer will reflect on the 25th anniversary of her impactful studio album of the same name that spawned classic 90s hits such as: Be Happy, I'm Goin Down, and Mary Jane (All Night Long).
The project is considered to be Blige's breakthrough album that solidified her status as the "Queen" of R&B. But, what makes the record deeply personal is the struggles she endured and used as fuel to create it.
The singer has been very vocal about her past demons and battles with alcohol, drugs, and clinical depression.
Blige expands more on her painful past and how it led to her sophomore album becoming one of the most introspective projects she ever created.
"Through all the highs and lows my one constant has been my fans, and I wanted to make this documentary for them. To give them more insight into who I was and who I am now, where I've come from and where I still want to go and break down an album that completely changed everything for me," she explains in the clip.
Alicia Keys and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs will also make an appearance in the compelling documentary.
Get your tissues and ladies, pull out those classic 90s gold hoop earrings! My Life will air on Amazon Prime, June 25.
