The Book of Boba Fett is coming to Disney+ with an official launch date
Los Angeles, California - The next series from the Star Wars universe is just around the corner! Get ready to suit up with the most badass bounty hunter in a galaxy far, far away.
The Book of Boba Fett will air on Disney+ starting December 29, 2021.
The spin-off was announced in the credits of the season 2 finale of The Manalorian.
Fans have been waiting for a more info since the credit teaser, which didn't include a set release date.
The bounty hunter's eventful history featured in the original Star Wars trilogy, where he helped the Empire capture Han Solo on Bespin's Cloud City.
Fans got to see his origin story in the Attack of the Clones, where he witnesses Samuel L. Jackson's Mace Windu kill his clone father, Jango Fett, in the legendary Battle of Geonosis.
The outstanding animated series The Clone Wars pushed Boba's development with some interesting episodes, as he strove to avenge his father's death and hung out with some fascinating mentors.
Over these different series, Boba becomes the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. His Mandalorian armor was the perfect excuse to feature the character in the hit series The Mandalorian, in which he took on a combat-heavy action role.
Temuera Morrison back as Boba, Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand
Temuera Morrison will reprise his role as Boba Fett.
The 60-year-old Kiwi actor also played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones (2002), Commander Cody in Revenge of the Sith (2005).
It's no surprise that Disney and Lucasfilm have now decided to make a standalone series with him in the lead role, given his character's huge popularity.
In The Book of Boba Fett, he will once again act alongside mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen, 57) and return to one of the most famous locations in the entire universe: Tatooine, and with it, the galaxy's underworld.
There, Boba lays claim to the territory that once belonged to the legendary Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate. The franchise formula just about guarantees that he'll run into some other familiar characters along the way.
Starting December 29, we'll see whether The Book of Boba Fett can keep up with The Mandalorian in terms of quality and give the fans the classic Star Wars experience.
