A new happily ever after: Colton Underwood shares "amazing milestone"
Los Angeles, California - Former star of The Bachelor Colton Underwood has announced he is engaged to his boyfriend, political strategist Jordan C. Brown.
On Monday, Underwood revealed on Instagram that he and Brown are engaged.
"Life is going to be fun with you," Underwood captioned a post of the two smiling while walking together.
His fiancé also revealed the news on his own page with an adorable pic of the lovebirds popping a bottle of champagne.
"The only time in my life I'm OK with wasting a bottle of champagne. I love you babe," Brown wrote under the shot.
The reality star also confirmed the news via People, and shared with the outlet that he is "extremely" happy.
"After my birthday, Jordan and I went to Big Sur for a weekend getaway to decompress and relax in nature," the 30-year-old explained. "I couldn't have pictured a more beautiful place to celebrate an amazing milestone in my life and relationship."
He continued, "I'm extremely happy! 2021 was the most transformative year of my life. Starting 2022 off with my best friend, teammate, and now fiancé is something I never thought was going to be possible."
The pair began dating in the summer of 2021, just months after the former athlete confirmed he was gay in a bombshell interview that sent Bachelor Nation into a tailspin. In May, the Bachelor alum revealed that he decided to come clean about his sexual orientation because he was blackmailed.
After searching for love with female contestants as a contender on ABC's The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, and then as the chosen lead on The Bachelor in 2019, the former NFL player – who famously revealed his virginity on air – ended his season in what seemed like a happy relationship with Cassie Randolph.
The two split in May 2020. Randolph later filed a restraining order against Underwood after she said he allegedly stalked her outside her Los Angeles apartment.
Underwood then chronicled his coming out journey and his new life as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in a Netflix docuseries, Coming Out Colton, which was released in December.
Fans are now wishing the best to Colton in his new happily ever after.
