Salma Hayek produces TV series about talking breasts
Los Angeles, California - If breasts could talk, what would they say? If you're wondering the same thing, you can look forward to the upcoming comedy A Boob's Life, which features just that: talking boobs.
Actor and producer Salma Hayek (54) will direct the comedy.
The idea behind the show comes from the novel A Boob's Life: How America's Obsession Shaped Me – and You, which is not due to be released until March.
As Deadline reports, the plot concerns a woman named Leslie who is having a midlife crisis just before her 40th birthday.
When her breasts suddenly start talking to her, she is forced to look at herself and her surroundings in a completely different light.
The breasts are meant to serve as a metaphor for society's constant judgment of women, which leads to "a collective sensation that no matter what we do we are never enough," Hayek explains.
The production gives voice to the protagonist's breasts in order to provide viewers a unique insight into contemporary women's experiences.
Hayek expressed her delight that the HBO streaming service is giving her the chance to bring this subject to the screen. Exactly how the roles have been cast has not yet been announced.

Will Salma Hayek star in the new series?
Fans might expect Hayek to act in as well as produce the show, and rumor has it she could even star as Leslie.
Hayek already proved that she can carry out both roles simultaneously with the two-time Oscar-winning film Frida.
As an actor, Hayek has enjoyed great success for years, playing the role of a vampire queen in the classic flick From Tusk till Dawn (1996) and recently starring in The Roads Not Taken (2020).
The Mexican-American founded Ventanarosa Productions in 1998. The company received many awards for the series Ugly Betty, among others.
Hayek's fans will certainly not want to miss her daring new debut series, which is sure to be a big hit!
