Phoebe Dynevor addresses Daphne's Bridgerton future
The TV adaptation has fully adopted the structure of the romance books it's based on, centering a different Bridgerton sibling with each installment.
While that's an easy structure to maintain on the page, it seems many of Bridgerton's stars don't want to be sidelined after their moment in the sun.
Phoebe Dynevor, who rose to fame for her portrayal of Daphne in the show's first season, has confirmed she will not be appearing in the upcoming season.
While season one focused on Daphne's romance with the Duke of Hastings, season two shifted Daphne to a supporting role as the focus moved to the romance between her brother, Anthony, and Kate Sharma.
Though the 27-year-old actor stuck around as Daphne for season two, her on-screen beau Regé-Jean Page bowed out.
"Well, I did my two seasons," Dynevor told Variety. "I've done what I wanted to do with that character and she had a great arc."
But all hope is not lost, dearest readers, as the star continued on to say, "If they ask me back in the future, who knows?"
Season three of the regency romance is expected to hit Netflix sometime this year.
