Pam & Tommy: An X-rated love story not for the faint of heart
The highly-anticipated Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy has finally arrived - but is it worth the watch?
The scandal that rocked the '90s has gotten a closer examination thanks to this hot new series.
On Wednesday, the first three episodes of Pam & Tommy dropped. And so far, the Hulu series is just as wild and depraved as trailers have teased - if not more.
The biographical drama follows the true events of model-actor Pamela Anderson and rocker Tommy Lee's whirlwind romance.
In 1995, the famous pair wed after knowing each other for two months, which the series hilariously makes sure to note.
While the two were both famous at the time, Pamela was the "It Girl" of the '90s thanks to her success on the show Baywatch.
Therefore, when a disgruntled former employee steals and sells the ultra private sex tape she made with her then-husband, s**t hits the fan.
But the show doesn't just focus on the explicitly raw video that almost ruined the lives of the model and the Mötley Crüe member. From the unknown backstory on Rand Gauthier, the man responsible for getting his hands on the tape, to the pressures of fame - Pam & Tommy covers all the essentials.
But be warned, as this tale isn't for the faint of heart – or really anyone under the age of 21.
Pam & Tommy gives a raunchy glimpse at the sex tape that rocked the '90s
When Lily James and Sebastian Stan were confirmed to portray the infamous ex-pair, the news wasn't exactly met with praise.
Yet within the first few minutes of the mature series, it's clear the two actors are the best choice.
Both are completely unrecognizable as the ex-spouses, particularly James, who underwent hours-long makeup to become the buxom blonde star.
Then there's Seth Rogen. The Pineapple Express star completely delves into the role of the bitter electrician who seeks revenge against Tommy after not being paid for the work he did on the musician's mansion.
Though the way Rand went about getting his revenge is up for debate, no one can deny that Tommy was a huge a**hole back then.
Nevertheless, the raunchy series isn't shy about the major impact the porn industry had on the world during the '90s, or on Pam & Tommy's adventurous sex life, for that matter.
Full-frontal nudity is shown at any given chance, whether it's very intimate glances of Pam's larger-than-life chest or Tommy's – ahem – hefty endowment.
The series shows that the Mötley Crüe is perhaps the true inventor of Big Dick Energy. During the show's second episode, he's shown debating with his penis for 10 minutes – and yes, his penis talks back to him.
But even during its absurd and hard-to-stomach moments, the series manages to keep audiences intrigued, especially those who aren't familiar with just how crazy things got after the infamous sex tape was leaked.
All in all, Pam & Tommy is off to a kick-a** start, and hopefully it keeps the momentum going.
New episodes of Pam & Tommy air every Wednesday, only on Hulu.
