Pam & Tommy: All hell breaks loose in new episode
During the new episode of the Hulu series Pam & Tommy, the couple suffer a loss after learning their sex tape was stolen.
On Wednesday, the miniseries' latest chapter, The Master Beta, wastes no time getting into the disastrous aftermath of Rand Guither's thievery.
All hell breaks loose in the accelerating episode that Lake Bell of Marvel's What If..? beautifully directs.
Pam and Tommy, portrayed by Sebastian Stan and Lily James, discover that their sex tape is missing.
Unfortunately, by the time the spouses come to this realization, the private video had already been circulated nationally.
Making matters worse, the scrutiny of everything causes Pam to tragically miscarry the couple's first child.
As for Seth Rogen's character, the former porn star spends the majority of the episode on the run after Tommy sends a vicious P.I. and a biker gang to get the tape back.
The enticing and fast-paced 40-minute episode was chaos from start to finish, but it also brings up an imperative question.
Who's the real victim in this alluring rendition of the shocking '90s scandal?
Pam & Tommy's sex tape wrecks couple's lives – but Pamela suffers the most
Clearly the now-ex-spouses were greatly affected by the release of their ultra-private tape. But the miniseries has also given some insight into how things faired for Rand.
The couple's former employee learns the hard way just how greedy and dishonest the porn industry is.
The dubious craftsman is not only hunted down by Tommy's henchmen, but he's also double-crossed by his business partner, Milton Ingley aka Uncle Miltie, played by Nick Offerman.
It is hard to feel sympathy for him, though he was somewhat justified in seeking vengeance against the Mötley Crüe member.
When Tommy hilariously name-drops some celebs who may have stolen the missing sex tape, it's again hinted that the rocker was an oblivious d**k back then.
Side note: future clarification needs to be given if John Stamos and Mickey Rourke really had beef with Tommy.
Pamela calls out double standards
Honestly, the true victim here is Pamela.
Obviously the model isn't innocent, yet she does makes a very poignant point: Women are usually torn apart by the media whenever a provocative scandal breaks.
"It's because I'm a woman! People are gonna think you're cool for this. They'll be high-fiving you in the street. Me, I'm gonna get looked at like a slut by the whole world... you never have to f***ing deal with this stuff," she shouts at her husband.
To be frank, she wasn't wrong.
The recent episode depicts the Barb Wire actor catching Baywatch crew members gleefully watching a copy of her risqué video.
She's also cruelly harassed by the paparazzi moments after her miscarriage.
And yet despite this, Pam shows just how tough she can be when she obliterates a reporter's car windshield.
New episodes of Pam & Tommy air every Wednesday on Hulu.
