Miranda Cosgrove defends iCarly costar after racist attacks on social media
Los Angeles, California - After iCarly star Laci Mosley revealed that she received death threats and horrific slurs on social media, her costar Miranda Cosgrove clapped back and slammed her haters.
Mosley explained that the attacks were apparently brought due to fans assuming Mosley's character would be replacing the character of Samantha Puckett, played by Jenette McCurdy in the original series.
But McCurdy had already disclosed that she would not be back for the revival of the Nickelodeon series. Still, Mosley was called derogatory and degrading names on her social media platforms.
On Monday, the comedian tweeted, "My sister telling me that she saw several videos about me on TikTok being racist as f*** broke my heart. Me and my sister are 13 years apart she’s like my child and her having to see this s*** broke me. I don’t know what’s wrong with you people but you need to seek help."
Cosgrove and Paramount + publicly defended Mosley by condemning these racist and hateful remarks that she has received.
The Despicable Me star reshared the studios' statement in response to the attacks Mosley has been subjected to which told fans to "think about your words."
Meanwhile, Mosley addressed her critics again in a recent Instagram post, where she wrote, "Y’all at home being racist I’m out here being blessed."
The teen comedy is set to premiere on Paramount + in June. Nathan Kress, Jerry Trainor, and Reed Alexander will also reprise their roles alongside Miranda Cosgrove.
