It was reality TV stars' turn to shine in the first ever MTV Unscripted Awards

Los Angeles, California - After a pretty standard awards show on Sunday night, MTV stepped it up a notch with its first ever UNSCRIPTED awards – or as host Nikki Glaser called it, "the Oscars but for stuff we actually watch"!

The MTV Movie and TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED rewarded reality TV stars for their hard work in front of the cameras.

The show was hosted by none other than comedian Nikki Glaser and was held live at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles – only one day after the ceremony for scripted movies and TV shows took place.

And RuPaul's Drag Race was a big winner of the night as the series was honored with no less than three awards! They were not only voted best competition show, but can also officially boast the best reality cast and the best host in RuPaul.

Tayshia Adams gave a sweet shout-out to her fiancé Zac Clark as The Bachelorette won the rose for best dating series. And love wasn't just in the air in America. The British version of Love Island won best international reality series.

Another award that went overseas was accepted by K-Pop sensation BTS, who thanked MTV via video message after winning best music documentary.

The cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation admitted to being "a little excited, a little drunk" when they accepted their award of best docu-reality show.

While some of them simply couldn't believe they won something and were left speechless, Angelina Pivarnick blasted: "We deserve it so much!"

Nailed It host Nicole Byers was over the moon happy as she was allowed to take home the golden popcorn for the best lifestyle show as she enthusiastically thanked everybody in her video acceptance speech:

"So I thank people because it's an award. I've never won nothing. I want to thank everybody."

Hidden camera reality show Impractical Jokers won best comedy/game show and the trophy for best real-life mystery or crime Series went to Catfish: The TV show.

Selena Gomez's cooking show Selena + Chef won an award for best new unscripted series and the award for the best talk/topical show went to The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

The South African comedian and host used his acceptance speech to ask everyone to get vaccinated.

"I see you on the other side of the pandemic, people. Get your vaccine. Let's have fun in the summer!"

Bretman Rock was named the breakthrough social star of 2021. Sporting black glitter pants and a fabulous crop-jacket, he talked about how traumatizing it was to have everyone watch him while growing up on the internet. "But it's all worth it," he continued.

The Filipino-American influencer also had a touching message to share: "This award is for all of the Asian-Americans who believes in me, all of the Pacific islanders and most importantly this is for all of the LGBTQ-community."

Last but not least, what would reality TV be without some good beef. And so the golden popcorn for the best fight went to Kourtney and Kim Kardashian for their legendary feuds in Keeping Up With The Kardashians!
