House of the Dragon: HBO Max drops haunting teaser for Game of Thrones prequel
Kings and queens, fire and blood: HBO Max released the first teaser for House of the Dragon, the long-awaited prequel to Game of Thrones.
On Tuesday, the streaming app dropped an official first look at the long-awaited prequel, as part of the HBO Max Europe launch event.
Following the underwhelming ending to GOT in 2019, fans have demanded retribution.
The House of the Dragon could be the beloved series redemption.
The chilling one-minute clip sets the scene of House Targaryen's time in power, 200 years before the events of GOT.
"Dreams didn't make us kings, dragons did," an eerie voice announces.
GOT's series finale left the fate of Targaryen bloodline somewhat ambiguous with the death of Daenerys Targaryen by her lover/nephew, Jon Snow/ Aegon Targaryen.
The impending prequel will focus on the powerful family's dynasty before its fall.
Based on the George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, the series stars Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Rhys Ifans, and Steve Toussaint.
House of Dragon will premiere in 2022 on HBO Max.
