Joel and Ellie's treacherous voyage among contagious fungi and blood-thirsty clickers is far from over!

On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that a second season of the post-apocalyptic drama, based on the popular 2013 Naughty Dog game, has been greenlit.

"I'm, humbled, honored and frankly overwhelmed that so many people have tuned in and connected with our retelling of Joel and Ellie’s journey," executive producer Neil Druckmann told the outlet.

"The collaboration with Craig Mazin, our incredible cast and crew, and HBO exceeded my already high expectations. Now we have the absolute pleasure of being able to do it again with season two!"

The horror series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey has gotten universal acclaim from fans and critics since its premiere episode.

Per the outlet, the show's first episode was HBO's second-most-watched series debut in a decade.

The exciting update comes ahead of TLOU's anticipated third episode, Long Long Time, airing this Sunday, which has been reported to be a standout of the season.
