Euphoria: Lexi Howard shows she's "a f**king g"
The penultimate episode of Euphoria's season two has brought uncomfortable truths to light while setting things up for an epic finale.
Whew!
Those who haven't seen Sunday's episode of the HBO Max series: look away now, as some spoilers lay ahead.
The new seventh episode traverses between the past and present, depicting several key moments and relationships, while also hinting towards a major death.
The episode, titled Theater and Its Double, mainly takes place in the series' high school theater. Everyone – well, almost everyone – is in attendance for Lexi Howard's long-awaited play.
Aptly titled Our Life, Lexi, effortlessly played by Maude Apatow, tackles her loved ones' poor life choices, like Rue's addiction and her sister Cassie's self-absorbed antics.
While the play causes some, like Zendaya's Rue, to finally grasp how their selfish and dire actions have affected their family and friends, others just can't stand the honesty.
Needless to say, Lexi's big night brings out a lot of uncomfortable truths for the teens and – to be honest – it's about damn time.
Protect Lexi at all costs
As Alexa Demie's Maddie so greatly puts it, Lexi is "a f**king G."
As Sunday's episode finally gives her the spotlight she so rightfully deserves, the teen takes down one of the most vile characters in TV history.
It has been suspected since season one that Nate Jacobs is secretly gay, which could account for his hostile and twisted personality. It has also been hinted at that his father Cal, who is as equally twisted, possibly abused him.
In this latest episode, Lexi pokes fun at Nate's toxic masculinity with a hysterical rendition of the song Holding Out For A Hero, while exposing his messy relationships with Maddie and Cassie.
The embarrassing moment leads to Nate dumping Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, after only being "officially together" with her for what seems like two seconds.
Yet, the night isn't an overall win for Lexi, as she keeps looking out for her potential boo Fez, played by Angus Cloud, to arrive. Alas, he is a no-show.
It's just more signs pointing towards Fez being the one to possibly bite the bullet when the season ends.
As chaos ensues following Lexi's spicy play, everyone's fates are up in the air. However, one person Euphoria better protect at all costs is Lexi. She's now proven she's too valuable to lose.
The season finale of Euphoria airs Sunday on HBO Max.
