According to Deadline, the project is currently in "priority development" at Amazon Studios, although not much else is known.

The best news for long time fans is the return of Ridley Scott as producer, and possibly director, for the project.

Scott directed the original Blade Runner film, which was released in 1982 and is now considered by many to be a cult classic. It has been praised for its memorable cinematography and groundbreaking script, and to this day it's considered a sci-fi masterpiece.

In 2017 a sequel by Dune director Denis Villeneuve, Blade Runner 2049 was released, and in late 2021 an anime series titled Blade Runner: Black Lotus premiered on Adult Swim.

Ridley Scott hinted back in November 2021 that both Blade Runner and Alien, another classic sci-fi film he is known for, were being written as TV series, but he did not have any development details.

Unfortunately, not much else is known about the project, but with Ridley Scott on board and Amazon backing it, it will surely be something to look forward to.
