Andor: What to expect from the upcoming Rogue One prequel
Los Angeles, California - We have our first upcoming first trailer for the new Star Wars show, Andor, and already there's a lot to talk about, including the return of a fan-favorite character!
Andor will serve as a prequel to arguably one of the best standalone projects in the Star Wars univers, the 2016 movie Rogue One.
So the fact that we'll get to find out much more about Diego Luna's character, Cassian Andor, is nothing short of exciting.
The Mexican star will reprise his role in the upcoming production, which will focus on his origins as a thief before he become a pilot and intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance.
Other surprises that have been confirmed by the upcoming series' preview included Forest Whitaker's return and also Stellan Skarsgård's debut in Star Wars franchise.
The Star Wars universe continues
While stories about the Jedi will never truly go out of style, Andor is another fresh take on a Star Wars story that's increasingly focused on the other parts of the rebellions against the Empire's takeover.
Much like the most recent series and flicks have highlighted, the Jedi weren't the only ones fighting against Darth Vader and the Empire.
Though Andor's fate is an unhappy one, as seen in the ending of Rogue One, he does play a very big role as a member of rebel alliance.
Since the series will take place before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, there's always the chance that another iconic character could make a cameo – like Liam Neeson's surprise appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Andor will be streaming on Disney+ starting September 21.
