And Just Like That: Sarah Jessica Parker dishes on Aidan's SATC return
New York, New York - Whether we like or not, the Sex and the City (SATC) sequel, And Just Like That...(AJLT), is coming back for a second season on HBO Max. Here's what we know.
SATC fans have some time to prepare for the second chapter of Michael Patrick King's project that debuted in 2021.
Yet, there's some – emphasis on some – hope that the next season of the TV show won't completely destroy SATC's legacy.
It was previously confirmed that the fan-favorite character Aidan Shaw, portrayed by John Corbett, will return in season two of AJLT.
But in what capacity will the carpenter show up in the adult drama?
Well, his former flame Carrie Bradshaw AKA Sarah Jessica Parker has spilled a little tea on what to expect when her ex makes his long-awaited debut.
Will Aidan and Carrie finally get their happily ever after?
While SJP didn't give away all the juicy stuff, the star told Entertainment Tonight that Corbett is definitely coming back as the hunky handyman.
"Could be, could be," the 57-year-old told the outlet when asked if Corbett would step into the role of Carrie's ex once again.
"Well, you know, I can't be like, cryptic about it anymore," Parker continued.
Season one of AJLT ended with the famous writer becoming a widow after the death of her on-and-off lover Mr. Big, played by Chris Noth. Thus, season two may be the perfect time to bring back Mr. Shaw.
Aidan's reemergence was previously teased when the revival was first announced. But as viewers of AJLT's first season saw, Corbett didn't appear in any of the episodes.
Now that Carrie and Aidan don't have Mr. Big in their way, perhaps they'll finally get a real chance to see if they're meant to be.
Filming for season two of And Just Like That...has already begun. Here's to hoping the writers of the series learn from the mistakes of the first season and don't drop the ball on Aidan's big return!
