Forgiveness, change, and identity were heavily themed in Thursday's episode.

As Sarah Jessica Parker's beloved character continues to grapple with Mr. Big's shocking death, she also comes face to face with an old foe.

Meanwhile, her gal pals are each dealing with their own sets of issues.

Miranda's drinking problem comes to light, and Charlotte's tomboyish daughter Rose admits that she doesn't "feel like a girl."

As the series progresses, it becoming more clear that the revival may not be as glamorous as its predecessor – but something much more relatable.

And just like that, Carrie's past comes back to bite her

Carrie and Big may have been soulmates, but the two had a very complicated and messy past.

In SATC, they engaged in an illicit affair while Big was married to his then-wife, Natasha, played by Bridget Moynahan.

Eventually, the two got caught, and the fallout led to Big and Natasha getting a divorce and also the latter losing a tooth after she fell chasing Carrie down a flight of stairs.

Fast forward to the reboot, and Carrie is attending the reading her late hubby's will when it is revealed that Big left a large sum of money to his ex-wife.

This sends the writer into a spiral as she questions whether she and Big were truly a happy couple.

Plus, since Carrie tried to apologize to Natasha in the past, which was also a fail, there's still some bad blood between the two.

But things come full circle when she finally runs into Natasha – who was trying to avoid her.

The ladies have what was probably the most honest and real discussion they've ever had that not only put their years-long feud to rest but also showed just how much more mature Carrie has become.

Fans argued for years that Carrie's actions with Big in SATC made her selfish.

Yet it's clear she's starting to grow up as she still struggles with her grief.

Elsewhere, Miranda's unhappiness and desperation for change lead her to have a night out with Carrie's boss, Che.

Earlier in the episode, she admitted to Charlotte that she and her husband, Steve, haven't had sex in years while their son has no problem humping his girlfriend morning, noon, and night.

As for Charlotte, the socialite becomes concerned over her parenting skills after her daughter's revelation.

So yes, there's still not the same amount of sex and flair that SATC fans are used to.

But times have changed, and so have the trio of New Yorkers.

And Just Like That is streaming on HBO Max.
