Updated edition of Harry and Meghan's unofficial biography reveals shocking new detail in royal feud
Santa Barbara, California - An updated book epilogue provides new insight into the crumbling relationship between the royal family and the Sussexes, Harry and Meghan.
Many had hoped that having Harry surrounded by his family, united in memory of his beloved grandfather, would mark the start of a reconciliation. The funeral of Prince Philip (†99), who died in April, was the first time the 36-year-old had traveled back to the UK to face his family in person since stepping down from royal duties.
Some five months and one more visit later, however, a genuine thawing still seems a long way off. On the contrary, an update in the paperback release of the couple's biography, Finding Freedom, is now adding fuel to the fire.
One of the most explosive allegations offered by authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand is that the royals were "quietly pleased" that Meghan would not be able to attend the funeral service for Prince Philip in April, as they were fearing "the Duchess creating a spectacle," according to MSN.
According to the couple's lawyers, the book published by Harper Collins was not authorized by Harry and Meghan.
"Bullied" servants recant their accusations
There has been constant debate about the role of author Omid Scobie, who was accused of being the pair's mouthpiece. He has always maintained that he is just a journalist doing his job.
The newly-added epilogue also confirms that the staff who originally claimed that Meghan bullied them "asked for any allegations made to HR about their experiences with Meghan to be rescinded" once they discovered their claims had become public, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The hardback edition of Finding Freedom, which traces the story of "Megxit" and the couple's new beginning in the US, was published last year.
At the time of publication, the couple's official exit from the royal family was several months in the past, but interest in the story shot up after the sensational TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which the couple accused the royal family of racism and lack of support.
