Wannabe 25: The Spice Girls are back with a blast from the past and more!
London, UK - It's been 25 years since The Spice Girls released Wannabe was released, and what better way to commemorate the song that made them global superstars than by releasing a new single on their upcoming EP!
It's hard to overstate just how big of a pop culture sensation the Spice Girls were when they burst on the scene in 1996. Even a quarter of a century later, the group still mean a lot to millions of nostalgic people.
Flash forward to today and the girl gang is making a comeback to the music scene in their own reminiscent way.
The Spice Girls' upcoming EP is titled Wannabe25, a nod to the single on their debut album, Spice, which sold 23 million copies. That made it the best-selling album by a female group worldwide, a title they hold to this day.
The new EP will include three different versions of Wannabe: the original version, a remix of the song by Junior Vasquez, and the original demo recording.
But that's not the only treat the Spice Girls have in store.
The album will also feature a brand-new single called Feed Your Love that, according to NME, includes Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice. This is yet another sign that she's changed her mind, after previously ruling out a reunion.
Wannabe25 will be released on streaming services July 9, the same day Wannabe was released 25 years ago. Limited edition vinyls and cassettes will be available for purchase on July 23.
