It's a new week, which means more music drops are on the way from artists like Ciara, Ken Car$on, The Game, brakence, Becky G, The 1975, and more!
Welcome to the first week of July! The music drops this week span genres, meaning there's bound to be a release that's up your musical alley.
Ken Car$on is set to drop his sophomore album, while The Game is expected to release his highly anticipated – albeit delayed – record.
Ciara has a fresh single coming out on Friday, and bands like Bring Me The Horizon, The 1975, and DNCE are poised to drop new tracks this week, too.
With so much new music on the way, losing track of what's dropping and when is easy.
Here are the need-to-know album and single release dates for the week of July 4.
Albums of the week: The Game, Ken Car$on, Metric, and James Bay
- The Game - Drillmatic: Mind vs. Heart
Though The Game's 10th studio album, Drillmatic: Mind vs. Heart, has experienced numerous release delays, word on the street is it's finally dropping on Friday. The record was initially set for a June 17 release, but The Game reportedly pushed it back after Rolling Stone failed to feature his 2005 album The Documentary on their list of the 200 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums of All Time.
Drillmatic will feature the previously released track Violence, which The Game debuted on June 21.
- Ken Car$on - X
Ken Car$on is expected to release his sophomore album X on Friday. The record will be the follow-up to his debut album Project X. In January, the 22-year-old dropped nine singles on SoundCloud for a project dubbed Lost Files 3. All the songs on the project were recorded at the same time as those on his forthcoming record.
- Metric - Formentera
On Friday, Metric will drop their eighth studio album Formentera. The record serves as the band's follow-up to the 2018 release of Art Of Doubt. The upcoming album's lead single All Comes Crashing was released on April 28. Metric dropped the second single from the album, titled What Feels Like Eternity, on June 8.
- James Bay - Leap
Three-time Grammy-winning artist James Bay will release his third studio album Leap on Friday. On May 19, Bay dropped the music video for a single off the record titled One Life. According to Bay, the track is about his longtime love, Lucy: "We first got together at 16 and have been together ever since. She’s supported me since day 1. From open mic nights, right through to my biggest shows."
Singles of the week: Ciara, Bring Me The Horizon, EDEN, DNCE, the 1975, and more
In addition to four major albums, there are a slew of singles dropping this week, too.
On Wednesday, TINI, Becky G, and Anitta are set to release their new collaborative song La Loto, while Bring Me The Horizon is expected to drop the music video for the forthcoming track sTrAnGeRs on Thursday.
The 1975 is gearing up for the release of their new single Part of the Band, which is also set to drop on Thursday.
On Friday, Ciara will drop her brand-new single JUMP, DNCE will release their new song Got Me Good, Irish singer-songwriter EDEN will drop his new track Balling, and brakence is set to debut his new single Venus Fly Trap.
