Kendrick Lamar drops long-awaited fifth album with a tour to match
Los Angeles, California – Kendrick Lamar did not disappoint with his fifth album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
With features from the likings of Summer Walker, Baby Keem, Kodak Black, Sampha, and Ghostface Killah to name a few, Kendrick's latest album drop is far from a flop.
Not that K-Dot needed features to hold him up. With elite lyricism and a flow that's simply unrivaled in today's music scene, Kendrick continues to prove he's the head chef in his beat-making kitchen on Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
The 18-track album is Kendrick's first time releasing new solo music since dropping his Grammy-winning record, DAMN, in 2017.
Never one to shy away from saying what he truly feels regardless of potential backlash, the Poetic Justice singer really packs a punch on songs like N95, Father Time, Purple Hearts, Savior, Mr. Morale.
Kendrick Lamar drops tour dates for new album
The 34-year-old even addresses transphobia on the track Auntie Diaries while rapping, "My auntie is a man now/I think I’m old enough to understand now/asked my momma why my uncles don’t like him that much/and at the parties why they always wanna fight him that much."
Alongside his album drop, Kendrick announced a world tour to support his latest release. The Big Steppers Tour will kick off its US dates in Oklahoma City on July 19 and wraps in Los Angeles on September 15.
The rapper will then embark on the European leg of the tour, with the first show taking place in Amsterdam on October 7 and the last in Manchester on November 16.
Following his European dates, Kendrick will head to Australia for shows in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane between December 1-12. He'll also stop in Auckland, New Zealand for a show on December 16.
Joining the rapper on tour will be Baby Keem and Tanna Leone.
Tickets for the tour go on sale at 11 am ET on May 19.
