Ed Sheeran and Elton John pay homage to classic Christmas tracks with festive new video!
London, UK - If Ed Sheeran and Elton John's new music video doesn't get you in the mood for Christmas, then nothing will!
Just in time for the holidays, the two British superstars surprised fans with an early Christmas gift.
On Friday, Ed and Elton dropped the video for their song, Merry Christmas.
The holiday bop was announced earlier this week with an adorable tribute to the cult movie Love Actually.
The longtime friends brought the holiday cheer in the festive video directed by Sheeran's long-time collaborator Jason Koenig.
In it, Ed and Elton don matching holiday tracksuits as they entertain their guest at a Christmas party. From there, the holiday-themed video nods to several classic Christmas tunes, including Shakin' Stevens Merry Christmas Everyone and Wham's Last Christmas.
The video also honored the 1982 film, The Snowman, as a snowman takes Sheeran by the hand and guides him through the air, similar to the famous Walking In the Air segment from the animation.
The pop stars plan to donate all the proceeds and royalties of the song equally between their respective charities, the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
