Don't act like they forgot about Dre!

Dr. Dre is close to closing two separate deals with Shamrock Holdings and Universal Music Group (UMG), according to Billboard.

Shamrock is seeking assets consisting of passive income stream, artist royalties from his solo work and as a member of N.W.A., producer royalties, and the writer's share of his solo music – which he doesn't own publishing rights to.

UMG would get the masters to Dre's legendary first solo album The Chronic, his share of a venture his label Aftermath did with label Top Dawg for music releases by Kendrick Lamar, and some publishing rights.

The deals should net the rapper a whopping total close to $200 million, although initially sellers were seeking closer to $250 million.

Dr. Dre is one of the biggest names in rap music, getting his start when he co-founded the group N.W.A. in 1987.

He has since gone on to lead an impressive solo career, and has become a prominent producer and songwriter.

He is also credited with discovering some of the biggest names in the genre, including Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and The Game.

Fortunately, Dr. Dre will still own the rights and master to most of his music, and remains co-owner of his label Aftermath.
