Disney fans actually do talk about Bruno – and it's breaking records
Burbank, California - Audiences keep singing the praises of the Disney song We Don’t Talk About Bruno – at a historic rate.
Disney lovers do talk about Bruno, in fact. And they're not going to "let it go."
Disney has achieved its first number one tune in decades.
The hit song from its newest release Encanto reached the number one spot on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, giving Disney only it’s second-ever chart-topping single from an animated movie.
The first song to achieve the feat was A Whole New World from Aladdin, which did so nearly three decades ago in 1993.
Written by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, We Don’t Talk About Bruno sees members of the magical Madrigal family explain through song why discussing Bruno, who has the ability to foresee the future, became a taboo topic.
The song includes verses from many of the movie’s characters — including Adassa’s Dolores, Rhenzy Feliz’s Camilo, and Diane Guerro’s Isabela — who detail their experiences with Bruno to Stephanie Beatriz’s Mirabel.
Encanto, which came out in theaters in November, centers on an enchanted household in Colombia, where every member – except Mirabel – has a superhuman ability. It arrived on Disney+ in December.
Bruno, who is Mirabel’s uncle, is voiced by John Leguizamo.
We Don’t Talk About Bruno reached the top spot on the Billboard single chart after finishing last week at number two.
In 2014, the catchy Let It Go from Frozen peaked at number five on the Hot 100 list.
