Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak's Silk Sonic wants to take you for a Skate in new summertime jam

Los Angeles, California – Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak's newly-founded group Silk Sonic released its second single, Skate, with a feel-good music video to match the song's old school vibe.

On Thursday, both Bruno Mars (35) and Anderson Paak (35) shared a graphic teasing the release of Skate and dubbing it as a "Summertime Jam" – which fits the tune, and its accompanying video, to a tee.

In the video directed by Mars and Florent Dechard, who also directed the video for the singer's smash 2018 hit Finesse, Paak and Mars take center stage on two different sets of drums as their band plays behind them.

While the pair drums away, women clad in retro outfits and roller skates parade around the band as the duo sing, "Slide your way on over, skate to me baby. I wanna get to know ya."

Both the single and the music video emulate the sunshine of summer, bringing fans back to simpler times when roller skating was the pinnacle of social gatherings.

Skate is Silky Sonic's followup to their first single, Leave The Door Open, which debuted on March 4.

The music video for Skate follows the same theme and color scheme as Leave The Door Open's, with Mars and Paak still doing their best to serenade that special someone who's the apple of their eyes.

One stark difference between Silky Sonic's first two video releases is the upbeat roller skating dance sequence performed by the gorgeous women who often take center stage in Skate.

Silky Sonic's debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic, is slated to be released this year, though an official date has yet to be set.
