Austin City Limits gives concert-lovers something to sing about with big announcement
Austin, Texas - After the Covid-19 cancelled most live music events in 2020, Austin City Limits Music Festival, or ACL, shocked music lovers and announced the dates for the in-person music festival this October.
On Sunday, ACL announced the festival would be back in action this fall, sharing the dates for the two-weekend event happening on October 1-3 and October 8-10.
This follows a year of sweeping concert and festival cancellations due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
ACL is one of the first large-scale, in-person live music events to be announced in the US. Other events, like Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin plan on moving the dates to the fall in efforts to not cancel them altogether.
The subtle announcement was shared on ACL's website, saying "we can't wait to see you Oct. 1-3 & 8-10, 2021 back in Zilker Park. Until then, stay safe [and] take care of each other."
While the safety concerns were taken into consideration, it seems as if C3 is confident that vaccinations will be widespread by the time October rolls around, helping ease the fears of large social gatherings.
Fans of ACL and other music festivals will surely be keeping an eye out for more music-related good news in the coming months as the pandemic situation hopefully continues to improve.
