With so much good music coming out on a rolling basis, it can be hard to know whose albums are being released and when.

Things can get particularly murky for those who have an eclectic taste.

Whether it's a full-fledged album or a new single, there's seldom a day that goes by without a new release being dropped.

With that in mind, it seems that one thing Covid-19 might've been good for was music creation, as artists have been doubling down on their output.

Better yet, the majority of releases over the last year have been pretty stellar, and 2022 is proving to be no different.

Without further ado, here are seven albums set to drop on Friday.

Alternative and indie rock

  • Band of Horses – Things Are Great
It's been a minute since Band of Horses put out new music – six years to be exact. That'll change come Friday when the band releases its sixth studio album, Things Are Great.

The band released the album's lead single, Crutch, on October 12, 2021. To say fans flocked to this single would be an understatement.

Within three months of its release, Crutch reached the top of Billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay list, marking their first appearance on the Billboard charts.

Indie rock band Peach Pit is set to release their third studio album, From 2 to 3, on Friday.

The record's ultra-smooth lead track, Up Granville, was released on September 30, 2021.

The album was produced by Robbie Lackritz, who has previously worked with Feist and Jack Johnson.

  • Léon – Circles

The third studio album from Swedish singer-songwriter Léon, titled Circles, is coming on Friday. This marks the artist's first album in two years.

Produced by Martin Stilling, Circles is set to feature 11 tracks, falling short of the exhausting new norm of cramming 20-plus songs on a single body of work.

  • Diplo – Diplo

After working on the record for nearly three years, Diplo's self-titled album will finally be in the hands of fans on Friday.

According to Yahoo, Diplo's longtime collaborator, Jasper Goggins, referred to the record as "the first proper Diplo album since Florida," which debuted in 2002.

"[It's] a fantastic and cohesive self-titled work that will stand as a career-defining moment," Goggins said.

The first single from the album, Don't Forget My Love featuring Miguel, was released on February 10.

EDM, punk rock, and hip hop

  • Krewella - The Body Never Lies

The follow-up album to Krewella's 2020 release is coming on Friday, and fans of the sister duo are In for 10 tracks of pure dance-pop and EDM magic.

The album, titled The Body Never Lies, is set to feature two of Krewella's latest collaborations, such as the song Never Been Hurt with BEAUZ, and No Control with MADGRRL.

  • Sueco – It Was Fun While It Lasted

Sometimes, all you need to kick-start your music career is for one song to go viral, and that's what happened to Sueco with his 2019 hit, Fast.

If his latest single, Loser, is any indication of what to expect of the album, it's certain to have a pop punk vibe with subtle hip hop notes.

Born William Schultz, Sueco is back to give his growing fan base more to vibe out to with his forthcoming album, It Was Fun While It Lasted, dropping Friday.

  • DaBaby and NBA YoungBoy – Better Than You

Who doesn't love a joint album?

Though teaming up with an artist you admire and respect for a full-length album can have its challenges, it's hard to think DaBaby and NBA YoungBoy would put out a body of work they don't believe in.

The rappers announced their joint album, Better Than You, on February 24, and released its lead single, Neighborhood Superstar, on February 25.

All albums listed above are set to drop on Friday.
