Yes, this is actually happening. And if you value your childhood memories, look away!

Despite initial backlash over the independent film, the famous gentle-anthropomorphic teddy bear has been turned into an ax-wielding maniac in Rhys Frake-Waterfield's upcoming horror flick.

On Wednesday, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey dropped its first official trailer, and viewers finally got to see what a creepy, live action Pooh has manifested into.

The graphic clip shows a feral Winnie and Piglet looking like pancake-faced furries terrorizing a group of college girls who are abandoned by Christopher Robin.

Gone are the days where the worst thing the honey-obsessed imaginary bestie of Christopher did was walk around pantless.

We're not even going to get into what also happens to Pooh's comrades in The Hundred Acre Wood, but everyone can take a wild guess what their fates are.

How did Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey get made?

Nevertheless, the true million-dollar question is just how in the all-mighty hell a film like this came into existence in the first place.

Pooh creator A.A. Milne's stories about the care-free bear and his friends became public domain earlier this year. This means The Walt Disney Company no longer has the exclusive film rights to the characters first depicted in the books.

Yet instead of continuing the good-spirited and innocent nature of the beloved bear, we're now being subjected to seeing the classic character as a psychopathic murderer with severe abandonment issues. Legacy be damned.

Needless to say, the upcoming slasher will probably scar '90s babies for life. And to be honest, Pooh deserves so much better.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter users are feeling the same way, as many have sounded off with hilarious commentary over the ridiculous teaser.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey wrapped production in May of this year, but an official release date has yet to be announced.
