The year is coming to a close, but Hollywood often saves the best for last and it's no different with these huge December movies and show releases!
There's no better way to end the year than with exciting new shows and flicks.
Sure December is also the perfect time to binge-watch Christmas-themed entertainment.
But for those who are looking for non-holiday related content, these new series and movies premiering this month will be right up their alley.
From a forbidden teen romance, to villains from different dimensions running amok, all the way to the return of a huge franchise – check out these five film and shows debuting in December!
The Matrix Resurrections
Neo's back!
Keanu Reeves reprises his famous role as the chosen one in The Matrix Resurrections, the fourth installment of the franchise.
Much like the 1999 film that started it all, Neo once again finds himself trapped in another reality, only this time it seems even deadlier than what he's faced before.
While Carrie-Ann Moss will also return as Trinity, the movie will feature a new Morpheus, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
Fans are in store for more surprises and new faces, but will this be Neo's final chapter in the series?
The Matrix Resurrections premiers in theaters and on HBO Max December 22.
And Just Like That...
And just like that, everyone's favorite gal pals are back and better than ever.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon return as their iconic Sex and the City characters, Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York-Goldenblatt, and Miranda Hobbs in the HBO Max revival.
However, the now-trio of girlfriends are short a member, since Kim Cattrall won't return as Samantha Jones.
Still, teasers and previews have shown viewers can expect the same amount of drama, friendship, and sex as in the original series.
Will the revival live up to the hype?
Get carried with the HBO Max series And Just Like That, which premieres on December 9.
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-man will face his toughest battle yet in Spider-man: No Way Home.
In what's sure to be one of the biggest Marvel films since Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, accidentally tampers with the multiverse after his identity is revealed.
The incident leads to all out chaos when super-villains from alternate realities who previously fought versions of Spider-Man show up in his dimension.
The trailers for the upcoming Marvel flick has already teased the return of iconic villains such as Doc Ock and the Green Goblin. But there's also been chatter that former Spider-men Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire could also make an appearance.
Will this crossover happened? And how will Tom's Spider-man handle the big mess he unknowingly unleashed?
Spider-man: No Way Home swings into theaters on December 18.
The Book of Boba Fett
Star Wars fans can finally rejoice.
The iconic bounty hunter who played an important role in the Star Wars film and TV franchises is finally getting his own tale in the upcoming spinoff series.
Temura Morrison reprises his role as Boba Fett in The Book of Boba Fett.
The upcoming show will highlight the hunter's life between the events of the Empire Strikes Back and the second season of The Mandalorian.
Also joining the series is Ming-Na Wen, who played the ruthless assassin, Fennec Shand.
The Book of Boba Fett premieres on Disney+ December 29.
West Side Story
Steven Spielberg brings forth his take on one of the most romantic, yet tragic musicals.
The 2021 adaptation of West Side Story stars Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler as the ill-fated Tony and María.
Set in the 1950s, the two teenagers fall in love despite their vastly different background.
While remakes and reboots have become a tired trend in Hollywood, early reviews for the film have been overwhelmingly positive.
Also, Rita Moreno, who played Anita in the 1961 version, will also be featured in the movie.
And with a famed director putting his magical spin on this classic tale, the movie just may be one of the best films of 2021.
West Side Story arrives in theaters on December 10.
