Dune gets the green light that fans have been waiting for!
The sequel to Dune is officially in the works, days after the film's highly-anticipated premiere!
On Tuesday, Warner Bros Studios confirmed that Dune: Part Two is coming.
However, fans will have to wait awhile before its arrival.
The official account for Legendary Studios, which produced the science-fiction flick, further solidified the news on Twitter announcement, writing, "This is only the beginning..."
The tweet continued, "Thank you to those who have experienced @dunemovie so far, and those who are going in the days and weeks ahead. We're excited to continue the journey!"
The exciting confirmation follows the film's successful debut performance in the box office.
Part one of the two-part series exceeded expectations by making an impressive $40.1 million in North American sales over the weekend.
Unfortunately, the sequel won't premiere until late 2023, which gives viewers plenty of time to brush up on some Dune knowledge with the novel of the same name.
Timothée Chalamet will return as the "messiah" Paul Atreides, and so will Euphoria star Zendaya. Her character, Chani, was only seen briefly throughout the nearly three-hour long film, which left fans wanted much more.
Dune is also still streaming on HBO Max, though the theaters is definitely the best experience for the dazzling film.
Dune: Part Two will arrive on October 20, 2023.
