Insider KC Walsh shared a tweet that included a photo of a text exchange, which seemed to confirm rumors that Warner Bros. studios were planning to drop Heard from the film.

"There was a meeting and all of Amber's scenes will be deleted from Aquaman 2," one of the texts in the photo stated.

Heard was set to play Mera, Aquaman's love interest, but it seems like the studio is trying to avoid any negative press with the film's release.

Before her recent defamation lawsuit with ex-husband Johnny Depp, Heard had shot scenes for the Aquaman sequel back in 2021.

The verdict ruled largely in Depp's favor and found that Heard attempted to defame him, although the Pirates of the Caribbean star was also found guilty of the same charge, though to a lesser degree.

The trial also unveiled a lot of the ex-celebrity couple's personal issues, with domestic violence at the center of things.

A petition to remove Heard from the DC production created by Depp's fans ended up collecting over 4.5 million signatures.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is due for release in March 2023.
