Halo: Infinite multiplayer plagued by bots ruining all the fun
Seattle, Washington - Halo: Infinite's online multiplayer has a big problem with bots, who are driving players up the wall by just not leaving matches.
Casual games of studio 343 Industries' Halo: Infinite online multiplayer are turning into a buggy mess, because the bots added to partially empty matches aren't getting kicked out when a human player takes their place.
Instead, teams often feature that extra "players," as the game won't show the bots the door, creating unfair advantages.
Kotaku writer Ari Notis noticed the issue in matches where two teams of four would get skewed by the persistent presence of bots. A Reddit post from late November also shows a team of six, including three bots, overwhelming a team of four human players.
Now, more targets isn't necessarily a bad thing in some game types, and casual matches without enough players would be a yawn-fest. But if bots don't dip out when their time has come in objective-based game modes, they can easily make the match unwinnable, no matter how hot the shooting of outnumbered team is.
In those modes, you and your time need to capture certain areas of the map long enough to score points, or capture a flag. Even though Halo's bots aren't the sharpest in town, they can smother your team by just throwing more bodies at objectives than you can deal with.
343 Industries hasn't commented on the bot problem yet, so players will have to hang tight for an update and a (fingers crossed) fix for unfair teams.
