We've already introduced you to some fan-favorite horror titles for PC and console, but if it's multiplayer mayhem you're looking for this Halloween, there's plenty to choose from.

A favorite on sale now is Dead by Daylight, an asymmetric survival horror, in which you and three of your friends can try to escape while one person hunts each of you down.

The survivors are in third-person mode, able to keep track of their surroundings, but hiding won't save you. The hunter's vision is reduced to first-person view, but audio cues – like your hammering heart – will give you away if the hunter is close enough.

Another asymmetric horror game series is Valve's Left 4 Dead, which includes the surprisingly superior sequel, Left 4 Dead 2. Both zombie-shooting romps are on sale as part of the Steam Halloween sale for only $3.50.

In the regular campaign, you and three other players fight through waves of generic zombies, deal with special types of zombies that pose a greater threat, or empty magazine after magazine into bosses.

In the player vs. player mode, one team plays the survivors, but you'll have to fight off AI zombies and player-controlled special zombies and bosses.

A special place in the internet's heart is reserved for Among Us. It's available on mobile for free, and on Steam for under four dollars. It's a pretty cartoonish video game that brings the suspense and sows distrust.

You and a crew of space explorers try to fix various parts of a spaceship, a research base, or airship, while the impostors try to take you out, one by one.

If you play take on any of these games with your friends, you'll need to work together – or die alone!
