Willow Smith speaks out on her dad's infamous Oscars slap
Los Angeles, California - Will Smith's daughter Willow opened up about the infamous slap her father dished out to Chris Rock at the Oscars – and she doesn't really get all the hubbub.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Smith said the "the slap heard round the world" didn't exactly "rock me" – at least not as much her "internal demons."
"I see my whole family as being human, and I love and accept them for all their humanness," the 21-year-old singer explained.
"Because of the position that we're in, our humanness sometimes isn't accepted, and we're expected to act in a way that isn't conducive to a healthy human life and isn't conducive to being honest."
In a recent apology video, Will had a similar message to share, insisting: "I'm human, and I made a mistake."
Chris Rock, on the other hand, has joked publicly about the incident, and has said he has no intention of speaking with Smith.
Willow's response also seems very different to that of her brother, Jaden, who tweeted "And That’s How We Do It" shortly after the shocking moment aired on live television.
Willow Smith is gearing up to release her new, aptly titled album, Coping Mechanism, on September 23.
