"We're having a baby!": John Mulaney and Olivia Munn are expecting
New York, New York – John Mulaney put those pregnancy rumors about Olivia Munn to rest, but not in the typical way.
It's official: John Mulaney and Olivia Munn are expecting their first child together!
After a weekend full of speculation that Mulaney's girlfriend and actor Munn (41) was pregnant, the comedian put the rumors to rest by confirming they were, in fact, true.
During his appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday night, Mulaney discussed how Munn held his hand through the "hell" of his substance abuse recovery before confirming that she is pregnant with their first child.
This marks the first interview Mulaney has given since his stint in rehab, and he held nothing back. The comic told Meyers he entered a facility in September 2020, and after checking out in October, immediately moved out of the home he shared with his now ex-wife, Anna Marie Tendler.
On Halloween, Mulaney hosted Saturday Night Live and suffered from a drug relapse soon after. Then came his strange appearance on Late Night in November, a visit Mulaney now said he faintly remembers.
"I'm told I took a job here," he recalled on Tuesday.
Apparently, Meyers was one of several friends that came together to stage an intervention for Mulaney, which led him to his second rehab venture. This time, he stayed for two months, and transitioned into sober living for a month and a half after.
Then this spring, he linked up with Munn in Los Angeles, something he called, "a very lucky thing." Though he seemed nervous to spill the beans on their baby news, the 39-year-old was clearly thrilled, exclaiming, "I'm going to be a dad!"
It's been quite an action-packed year for Mulaney, and it's going to get even more chaotic once the bundle of joy arrives.
