Vogue is coming for Drake and 21 Savage over counterfeit cover shoot
New York, New York - Rappers Drake and 21 Savage are being sued for using a fake Vogue Magazine cover to promote their latest album.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the duo have been promoting their recent joint album Her Loss by using a copy of the magazine that features them on the cover.
The cover has been plastered on walls in major cities, and counterfeit copies of the magazine were printed and distributed.
The rappers' ad campaign has allegedly led fans to believe that a special edition issue of the magazine may be on the way, although that was never the case.
Vogue owner Condé Nast says the company has "not endorsed [Her Loss] in any way." The publication previously requested that Drake and 21 Savage remove anything using the brand, an ask that was ignored. Now, Vogue is suing the duo for $4 million in damages.
A source close to Drake says that his team is "both surprised and confused" by the lawsuit.
Drake shared the faux magazine cover on Instagram on Halloween with the caption: "Thanks @voguemagazine and [editor-in-chief] Anna Wintour for the love and support on this historic moment."
Drake and 21 Savage's latest collaboration Her Loss is currently streaming everywhere.
