Trey Songz accused of rape by former basketball star
Las Vegas, Nevada - Former University of Las Vegas basketball player Dylan Gonzalez has accused Trey Songz of rape.
On Tuesday, Gonzalez announced on social media that she will be pursuing legal action against the singer and accused him of sexually assaulting her.
"With what seems like endlessly reoccurring news of the alleged sexual assaults committed by Trey Songz, I am forced to repeatedly relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-suppressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas hotel," she began in the statement.
The athlete continued, "I want to send my love, strength, and hope to all who are victims of sexual assault and its fatal nature. You are not alone."
Gonzalez's attorneys confirmed to People that they will be taking action against the Can't Help But Wait singer in the coming weeks.
Though the former basketball player didn't detail when the attack took place, a source shared with TMZ that the incident happened years ago.
Trey Songz - who's legal name is Tremaine Neverson – has since denied the claim, but this isn't the first accusation against him.
In November, a separate complaint was made against the R&B artist by an anonymous woman to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
The report indicated a "sexual assault incident alleged to have occurred at a hotel in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard."
Neverson was named in the complaint.
Nearly four years ago, actor Keke Palmer also claimed that the Say Aah artist used sexual intimidation and put her in the music video for his song Pick Up the Phone against her wishes.
