Tom Hiddleston returns to the limelight with a vengeance – and a new lady to love!
London, UK – Over the last five years, Tom Hiddleston has been keeping things low-key, turning down screenplays for live performances on a stage. Now, he's coming back to a screen near you in a major way.
Preferring theater roles over big screen appearances, Hiddleston was able to escape the public eye for the better part of five years.
After his split from Taylor Swift after just three months of dating, the 40-year-old actor needed a break from the nonstop media attention that followed their whirlwind romance.
But the Londoner couldn't stay away from the movie masterpieces of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will make his return as Loki in the character's own Marvel TV show.
Loki, which premieres June 11 on Disney+ isn't the only thing Hiddleston has coming up on his radar, either. The Thor actor will be in the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, set to be released on May 7.
When the actor stepped away from the public eye and Hollywood, he did so for what he told Empire was "a moment of consideration".
After his failed love affair with Swift, he received multiple offers to star in big-name films. But he was never sure if it was his acting talent or his buzz-worthy connection to a highly acclaimed, Grammy-winning musician, that drove the demand.
Beyond the restart of his Hollywood career, Hiddleston is making moves in the love department too.
Moving on to better days
While his ex settles into her life with fellow London boy Joe Alwyn, Hiddleston has his sights set on someone new – Zawe Ashton, an English actor and playwright.
The two met while starring in the West End production of Betrayal, and have been linked together since 2020.
It looks like 2021 will be a big year for Hiddleston in the film world – and he's just getting warmed up.
