TJ Miller starts beef with "horrifically mean" Ryan Reynolds
Los Angeles, California - TJ Miller, who played Weasel the bartender in the first two Deadpool movies, says that his co-star Ryan Reynolds isn't as nice as everyone might think.
While many people see Reynolds as one of the funniest and nicest people in Hollywood, that hasn't been Miller's experience. In fact, as he insisted on a recent episode of The Adam Carolla Show, the Canadian actor was "horrifically mean" to him on the set of Deadpool.
"As if I'm Weasel, he was like, 'You know what's great about you, Weasel? You're not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it's funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie'" Miller said.
"That’s exactly why he said that," he continued. "Because I'm not funnier than he is at all, right? And I haven't been in more movies than him… Would I work with him again? No. I would not work with him again. I sorta wish him well because he's so good at Deadpool, and I think it's weird that he hates me."
Miller went on to explain that he believes Reynold changed "after he got super, super famous from the first Deadpool."
TJ Miller gets short shrift on social media
Whatever his intentions, TJ Miller didn't get much sympathy on social media, where many pointed out that Reynolds might have a problem 41-year-old due to his many controversies.
Miller was accused of sexual assault in 2017 and of bullying co-star Alice Wetterlund on the set of Silicon Valley a year later, which got him written off the show. He was also arrested in 2018 for making a fake bomb threat while on an Amtrak train, but the case was later dismissed by prosecutors.
Ryan Reynolds will be returning as the titular character for Deadpool 3 in September 2024. TJ Miller won't be in it, but he currently has a new stand-up comedy special currently streaming on YouTube.
