TikTok user is stunned when she realizes she got photobombed by a megastar!
New York, New York - Many people dream of crossing paths with their favorite celebrity, and for a TikTok user this dream became reality. Well, almost. If only she had noticed the superstar walking past her...
Taking to TikTok January 18, Mae Archie shared a Queen-soundtracked clip in which she skimmed through old holiday pictures of her 2019 trip to New York City.
The video shows her "freaking out" over a discovery she made in one of her pictures - with good reason.
When crossing the road on E 42nd Street, Mae reportedly asked her mother to snap a "cute photo of her," the young woman said.
But who's the man on the picture crossing the street in the opposite direction to Archie?
No one less but Beatles legend Paul McCartney himself!
Since Archie turned her back to the camera, and her mother was focused on getting the perfect shot of her daughter, neither of them noticed their close encounter with the rock icon.
It wasn't until she returned home that she eventually spotted the 78-year-old superstar crossing paths with her. "Taking pictures in NYC and realizing when I get home THE Paul McCartney photobombed me," Archie captioned the clip.
Archie explained that she in fact locked eyes with Paul, who winked at her, but was "dumbstruck" and failed to register who he was until she looked at the image.
TikToker only realizes she saw Paul McCartney after the fact
But did a megastar photobomb her picture or was it perhaps just a doppelgänger?
Archie has no doubt she locked eyes with "The" Paul McCartney. She recalled that the MET exhibition titled "Play it Loud: Instruments of Rock and roll," that she had visited before the snapshot, showcased significant requisites of famous musicians, including McCartney.
"I (...) was legit looking at the Beatles set and everything bc i love music," Archie explained in the comments.
Her post quickly went viral, with many TikTok users being just as stunned as Archie herself.
"How on earth did you not recognize him?" one user wrote, "I'm super jealous!"
Others said the picture reminded them of the Beatles' iconic Abbey Road album cover. "Out of all the spots to photobomb... just like the Abbey Road Cover."
