The Weeknd surprised his fans and foes on Monday by announcing that his fifth studio album, Dawn FM, will be released into the world on Friday.

The video announcement features several nearly unrecognizable clips of the music artist who seems to have taken on a new persona and look for the project – something he's been known to do.

As the trailer plays on, text flashes across the screen that states, "A new sonic universe from the mind of the Weeknd."

According to the video, Dawn FM is set to include features with an array of artists, such as Tyler, The Creator, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Quincy Jones.

Oddly enough, legendary actor Jim Carrey made the list of expected guest appearances on the Weeknd's album, too.

The announcement comes days after the music artist posted a screenshot of a text message seemingly from La Mar Taylor, the creative director at XO Records where the Weeknd is signed to.

In the text exchange, the Weeknd, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, responded to a pointed text from La Mar that read, "Happy New Year brother! What we thinking?"

The 31-year-old singer eagerly replied, "Everything feels chaotic again. Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let's just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people...XO."

Not much is known about Dawn FM, but there's no doubt it'll be showered with love by the Weeknd's adoring and musically-inclined fans upon its release on Friday.
